Alan has more than 30 years of experience both in consulting and industry. He works actively with for-profit and not-for-profit firms. Alan’s broad experience base allows him to successfully provide valuable insights in the areas of production, distribution, marketing, sales and finance. His focus is to identify and define what work systems require attention and then leveraging his expertise to provide it.

Consulting

Representative assignments have included benchmarking analyses to implement profit improvement programs around identified "best practices" and sales force effectiveness projects designed to increase selling productivity resulting in higher revenue and profit. Alan is a strong believer in employee incentive programs and has designed several to complement business strategies and programs to speed implementation and achievement of improved results.

In the non-profit sector Alan has managed or played a key, supporting role in the successful turnaround of organizations in the educational and recreational fields. Contributions included business planning processes, customer focus initiatives, fund raising and tighter financial control systems.

Industry

Alan has held leadership roles in Asia and Europe with P&L and Balance Sheet accountability for all aspects of the business system. Market segments included both consumer and industrial/commercial where market shares and financial returns improved dramatically. He has led multicultural sales teams incorporating concepts of sales force effectiveness programs while developing appropriate customer and sales force incentive systems to grow volume, market share and profits.

His experience also includes leading global treasury operations for international businesses. Activities included development of financing strategies, implementation of short- and long-term financings and execution of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.

In addition, Alan's repertoire includes leadership in the areas of financial control, strategic and operational planning, optimization of logistics systems. He has also led activities related to global benchmarking of business systems and practices to incorporate process upgrades for improved business performance.

And finally, Alan has design and engineering experience related to prior employment at production facilities of a large manufacturer of durable consumer goods.
